Challenging the ‘highly’ vs. ‘lower’ skilled migration binary: the story of a Romanian in Leytonstone, London
Raluca is twenty two, arrived in the United Kingdom two months ago and works in a restaurant. Her Romanian Maths-Informatics diploma is not recognised. However, she is happy living her life in the UK with her husband, yet they plan to return to Romania soon. Simple words said from the heart can relate to all of us. This video aims to show the human face of Romanian migration, looking beyond net migration figures and binary categorisations of ‘good’ and ‘bad’ migrants.
